A day in the life of a Datura aka Angel's Trumpet, Trumpet Flower, Horn of Plenty, Indian Apple, or Thorn Apple.
The flowers last only a single day, but by midsummer they are produced in a continuous sequence until fall frosts. Grows 3 to 5 feet tall. Also comes in yellow and lilac but I have only ever seen white. The leaves and the seeds of Datura are poisonous so should not be planted where small children play. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. To help support the Literature community we hold regular contests. It is an opportunity for you to get involved and gain some exposure. Contest winners will be featured in a news article and a journal entry--as well as other fabulous prizes.
